Christina Koch is an American NASA astronaut and engineer. Born in 1979, she was selected as an astronaut in 2013. She holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman, spending 328 days aboard the International Space Station (ISS) during Expeditions 59–61 (2019–2020). She also participated in the first all-female spacewalk with Jessica Meir. Koch has a background in electrical engineering and physics, with prior experience in space instrument development and remote field work (including in Antarctica). She is currently assigned as a mission specialist for NASA's Artemis II mission, the first crewed flight to orbit the Moon in the Artemis program
