Breitling has introduced a new capsule of three Top Time B01 Chronographs built as a tribute to the Aston Martin DB5, the car whose association with James Bond has made it one of the most recognizable automobiles in film history. The release continues Breitling’s long-running partnership with Aston Martin, this time filtering the DB5’s vintage character through the Top Time’s retro cushion-case design.
The steel reference, RB0178131B1X1, measures 41mm with Art Deco corner grooves and pump pushers, details that nod to the model’s 1960s roots. Inside sits Breitling’s in-house Manufacture Caliber 01, a self-winding chronograph movement with roughly 70 hours of power reserve. The steel version is priced at USD 18,600, with the trio’s other two references, in different case materials, priced separately.
Rather than launching an entirely new model line, Breitling is using the DB5 tribute to add fresh personality to the existing Top Time family, giving fans of both the watch and the car a tangible link between two icons of vintage design.
