Grand Seiko’s latest Spring Drive U.F.A. arrives in Ever-Brilliant Steel, pairing Caliber 9RB2 with a violet Shinshu dawn dial.

U.F.A. stands for Ultra Fine Accuracy. Grand Seiko rates Caliber 9RB2 to ±20 seconds per year, calling it the most accurate wristwatch movement powered by a mainspring today.

The watch uses a 37mm Evolution 9 case in Ever-Brilliant Steel. The alloy carries a PREN value over 40 and takes on a brighter tone under Zaratsu polishing.

The 9RB2 measures 30mm wide and 5.02mm thick. Its accuracy package relies on a quartz oscillator aged for three months, a vacuum sealed sensor, and a regulation switch for after-sales adjustment.

The dial evokes Shinshu’s pale violet dawn and icy forest texture, avoiding a purely technical presentation. Movement finishing echoes Shinshu’s frost, with jewels arranged like winter stars.
