Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono

A tachymeter for the America’s Cup countdown, and a first for the Luna Rossa line.

Panerai has introduced the Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono (PAM01768), the first chronograph to join its Luna Rossa collection since the sailing partnership began in 2019. Announced July 15, 2026, the watch is built to mark the run-up to the 38th America’s Cup in Naples, giving Panerai’s cushion-shaped Luminor case a genuine racing function for the first time in this lineup.

The 44mm brushed steel case houses the automatic P.9210 caliber (41 jewels, 28,800 vph, 42 hour power reserve), paired with a silver sun-brushed dial, luminous Arabic numerals, and a tachymeter scale for timing speed over a set distance, a fitting tool for a regatta piece. It’s finished on a velcro strap and limited to 500 pieces, priced at approximately $11,500 / €11,200 (unconfirmed, provisional).

The chrono arrives alongside a sibling GMT reference (PAM01791) built for crew members crossing time zones on the way to Naples, as Fratello reported. Together the pair round out Panerai’s most functional Luna Rossa release yet, extending a partnership now well into its second decade.
