Christopher Ward Adds a Bronze Trident Biscay at $2,095, No Premium Over Steel

The 39mm case uses marine-grade aluminium bronze, not tin alloy, and matches the steel version's price.

Christopher Ward has added a bronze version to the Trident Biscay lineup. The product page for reference C60-39C3H1-B0KK0-VT1 confirms what collectors want to know: the case is solid bronze, not a steel core with a bronze bezel. The 39mm case, 11mm thick, is made from CuAl10Ni5Fe4, a marine-grade aluminium bronze (roughly 10% aluminium, with nickel and iron). This differs from CuSn6, the tin bronze used in most divers at this price. Christopher Ward leans into the maritime connection: “Bronze has weathered storms for centuries, from ships’ bells to propellers, taking on the sea’s abuse and wearing it well.”

The key difference lies in patina. Aluminium bronze darkens more slowly and evenly than tin bronze, appealing to some, disappointing to others, depending on how quickly you want a vintage look.

The configuration on the page runs a brown textured dial with oversize applied Arabic numerals at the quarters, rose-gold-plated hands and a tan leather strap on quick-release fittings, with two hybrid rubber alternatives listed. The bezel is anodised aluminium with a 120-click action. Inside is a COSC-certified Sellita SW300-1 with a 56-hour reserve, and the case is rated to 200 metres.
