Kollokium: Crafting Watches as Contemporary Art
With nine layers of hand-painted topography that glow turquoise in the dark, Kollokium’s watches are unique horological masterpieces.

Kollokium, launched in Switzerland in 2020, defies traditional branding. Founded by industry veterans Manuel Emch and Barth Nussbaumer, alongside collector and influencer Amr Sindi (The Horophile), Kollokium is a project-based watchmaking platform rather than a conventional brand. Operating without a fixed artistic direction or historical constraints, the platform offers each watch as a distinct “Projekt” — a blank canvas reimagined with every release.
Kollokium’s watches stand out with their neobrutalist die-cast monobloc cases — crafted from a single block of steel with integrated lugs and bezel, entirely free of ornamentation. Their dials, however, are the real showstoppers. The Projekt 02 series features dials resembling three-dimensional hypsometric maps, using colour gradients to depict elevation and depth, more akin to sculpture than traditional watchmaking. Limited releases, rapid sell-outs, and recognition from the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) all underscore their resolutely art-focused approach.
The Projekt 02 Variant C “Cooler Waters” represents the pinnacle of Kollokium’s topographical dial design. The dial comprises 67 hand-painted plates layered into nine levels, resembling a sea view with white peaks and deep turquoise valleys. Infused with blue-emission Super-LumiNova, the dial’s gradient glows in the dark — cooler whites on the ridges, richer blues in the troughs. Black outlines enhance the drama, and the white hands share the same blue glow. A tall glassbox sapphire crystal allows the landscape to be appreciated from multiple angles.

The “Cooler Waters” edition opened to subscribers on June 1, 2026, and to the public on June 2, with deliveries running from June 3 to 15. Given the rapid sell-out of each Projekt, subscribing through the official website is the surest way to secure a piece before they disappear.
Kollokium sells exclusively through its own website — no retail partners, no grey market. Each Projekt is a numbered, time-limited event. Miss it, and you’ve missed it.
And at Spot.Watch — that’s always worth noticing.
